Robert Downey Jr. Reacts To Oscar Nomination

January 22nd, 2009 // 2 Comments

Nominated for his heavily made-up portrayal of fictitious character Sgt. Osiris in Tropic Thunder, Robert Downey Jr. might well be on his way to becoming Oscar-nominated Australian acting powerhouse Kirk Lazarus.

While on the set for his new film Sherlock Holmes, the actor told Extra, “It just shows you how far everyone in entertainment and politics has come.”

More than that, though, it shows how far RDJ has come. It wasn’t too long ago, boyfriend was quite possibly living out of a cardboard box with three crackwhores named Frank and a hamster.

Alright, the crack/hamster comment made me laugh so hard that hot coffee came out of my nose.

You and Mr. Harvey should really should put some kind of public service warning on your posts like they do at McDonalds!

I am happy for RDJ that he recovered from his addictions…or at least put them in check, as once addicted, there’s always a danger of relapse. He’s an amazing actor, with a true gift of characterization. Good for him.
