Using the term “giddy with pleasure” might be a little inappropriate when describing the anticipation of this weekend’s box office mega debut. We’ve been on edge waiting for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 to witness the “perfect” wedding and sexually charged honeymoon of Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart).
Yes, “giddy with pleasure” is a tad inappropriate but let the feathers fly.
Summit Entertainment expects Breaking Dawn to gross $110 to $125 million this opening weekend – and that’s them being modest. Based on pre-release audience surveys (and the chemistry between on-screen and off-screen lovers Pattinson and Stewart), most are estimating numbers more in the range of $140 to $150 million.

An easy number to come to since most of you are on line waiting for the midnight showing of Breaking Dawn while I sit at my desk writing about it. Hey, it was a fair compromise for having the privilege of covering The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 black carpet premiere.
In case you missed it, cast members and non-cast members were in attendance celebrating the premiere the night of Monday, November 14. While we wondered why some showed up, others played the part. My particular favs were (due to their ode to the vampiric fashion) were Ashley Greene in a red Donna Karan with blood red lips, Jackson Rathbone in a Dolce & Gabbana crushed velvet suit, and Kristen Stewart in J. Mendel with a thigh high slit and vampy eyes – can we say prelude to Breaking Dawn – Part 2???
But in case a vampire-werewolf love triangle, the fairy tale love story and teenage sexual tensions are not your thing…
There’s always Happy Feet Two in 3D from Warner Bros.
