Robert Downey Jr Quits Oz Prequel
It seems that Robert Downey Jr. has quit the upcoming Disney film Oz The Great And Powerful and the studio is already moved on to get Johnny Depp to take the part of the wonderful wizard. Downey Jr and his wife looked to be having an amazing time at the Golden Globes this past weekend though, so no skin off his back I’m sure.
The film is a prequel to the 1939 classic The Wizard Of Oz, and focuses on an illusionist who flees a travelling circus in a hot air balloon, which is caught up in a tornado and swept to the land of Oz.
It will be directed by Spider-Man’s Sam Raimi. Downey Jr also recently dropped out of a sci-fi movie called Gravity that also will star Sandra Bullock. In his absence, George Clooney will be stepping into his role.
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of Johnny Depp being in all these films…can’t they find someone else? I’m just sick of seeing him in nearly every movie.
