Ricky Martin Gets Political

April 30th, 2010 // 2 Comments

Maybe by making a video deep messages, but Ricky Martin is all hyped to speak out and there’s more than one issue that concerns him.

When the Puerto Rican singer took the stage the Billboard Latin Music Awards on Thursday he used the opportunity to express outrage at new legislation in Arizona that allows cops to question any individual they think is an illegal immigrant.

“This is not in the script,” he started, and after expressing outrage said “You are not alone. We are with you. Put a stop to discrimination. Put a stop to hate. Put a stop to racism… Long live love, long live peace.” He received a standing ovation.

Aw. If they are not alone can they come stay at your house? In which case, I might find myself a hot illegal boyfriend to score an invite, which I was gonna do anyway. It’s Friday, right?

  1. Great

Poor uninformed Ricky…there is already a fed law from 1940 that requires aliens to carry documents on their person. This state law enforces the federal law. A police will question a person when in contact w/them under another activity. They are protected from racial profiling under the 4th Amendment. Read the bill…

  2. Ricky Rocks

Poor uninformed Barack Obama said: ‘The recent legislation in Arizona threatens to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans.’
