Rick Springfield threatened the deputy sheriff who had his Corvette Stingray-worth $200,000-towed away May 1st, the night our dear “Jessie’s Girl” crooner was arrested for drunk driving. According to Fox News, Springfield threatened to kill the deputy sheriff and the deputy’s family: “”If you tow my car, I will f**king kill you and your family.” Ooook, then.
However, this remark was not logged in the arrest report, law enforcement sources from Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station (the same one where Mel Gibson was taken to for his 2006 DUI) explained to TMZ.
Gibson’s antisemitic rants were left off of that report as well. A spokesman from the L.A. County Sheriff’s department told TMZ, “It is rare when a drunk doesn’t say something outlandish to police when they’re arrested. I have no idea what went down with this one, I wasn’t there, but drunks are notorious for saying stupid, outlandish things to law enforcement all the time. Law enforcement’s job is to get them off the streets, because they’re drunk.”
Springfield’s arrest report only mentioned that he was “belligerent.”
