Andy Cohen, take a note. With a handful or so of your Housewives “stars” suffering financial woes, perhaps its time for a spin-off. At first we thought said spin-off should involve Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Barney and any other wife who kicked their husband to the curb. Now I’m thinking you should scrap that idea in favor of Housewives who can’t handle their cash flow. Say it with me: “If I spend more than I make, I will soon go broke.” The only franchise capable of keeping of with the Joneses is straight outta Beverly Hills. As far as we know, there have been no financial hardships to speak of. Those woman have money. Like, buy-and-sell-the Salahis kind of money.
The Real Housewives Of New York City‘s Sonja Morgan filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York yesterday. Morgan “listed $19.8 million in debt and $13.5 million in assets” on her petition. Whoa nelly. She beats the Guidices. Morgan blames her money woes on a failed movie deal with Hannibal Pictures Inc. They were supposed to make a movie starring John Travolta entitled Fast Flash To Bang Time. The deal fell through due to a number of demands Travolta made that Morgan’s company, Sonja Productions, couldn’t meet. Hannibal Pictures filed a lawsuit against Morgan’s company and won ($7 million won).
Don’t worry about Morgan. She’s got her television show and a slew of other projects to make up that $19.8 million. She’s going to do a cookbook, and maybe even a clothing line! See, lemons into lemonade.
