Reese Witherspoon Takes On Washington For Women

Reese Witherspoon hit Washington today to tackle the issue of ending violence against women worldwide. The actress acts as the Avon Foundation for Women’s global ambassador.

“I think when you have strong powerful women standing up and speaking
out about these issues, not to mention how many women represent us in
the Senate and the House of Representatives, you’re going to start to
see a major change in these areas,” stated the star who stopped by CNN
to talk with Wolf Blitzer. Witherspoon will help launch the Global Partnership to End Violence Against Women, a joint effort between Vital Voices Global Partnership, Avon, and the State Department The Global Partnership was created in response to the nearly one billion women who will experience violence in their lifetime.

Witherspoon will attend the International Women of Courage Awards along with First Lady Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton in honor of International Women’s Day.

The girl sure knows how to keep busy, promoting her cause while planning a new film, all in the midst of a big break up.

And of course, she did it all looking flawless. The actress attended a breakfast meeting today to launch the Global Partnership in Washington, DC.
