Reading off the Emmy nominations is a quick task, but it certainly makes a lasting impact.  This year’s 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Award nods were read off by Scandal‘s Kerry Washington and this year’s Emmy host/nominee for Outstanding Variety Show, Jimmy Kimmel (who showed up in jammies).

First off, I am thoroughly disappointed that neither New Girl nor Happy Endings received a nod in Best Comedy Series.  Come on, people!

I am pleased that Lena Dunham and Zooey Deschanel got nods for Best Leading Actress In A Comedy Series, as well as Max Greenfield for Best Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series.  Next year, let’s get the whole series up for a nod, hmm?

How about Downton Abbey, huh?  Best Drama Series, Best Leading Actor In A Drama Series (Hugh Bonneville), and Best Leading Actress In A Drama Series (Michelle Dockery).  The Great War is over and there’s a ceremony to dress for!

Catch the full list of nominations after the jump.  And please, humor me with your thoughts on this year’s selections.
