Real Housewives of Beverly Hills regular Taylor had recently separated from Russell and filed for divorce last month, accusing her husband of physically abusing her.
Taylor issued the following statement through her representative:
“Taylor Armstrong is devastated by the tragic events that have unfolded. She requests privacy at this time so that she may comfort her young daughter. Her thoughts and prayers are also with Russell’s 11 and 13-year-old sons.” (Armstrong, who was found dead Monday night in his Mulholland Drive home, reportedly had a son from a previous marriage and a son from a previous relationship. He and Taylor Armstrong have a daughter named Kennedy, who is 5.)
Meanwhile, a representative for Bravo, the TV network that airs the reality show, says, “All of us at Bravo are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Our sympathy and thoughts are with the Armstrong family at this difficult time.”
“I am so very sad about today’s news,” Bravo exec Andy Cohen wrote on Twitter. My prayers and thoughts are with Taylor Armstrong and her family.”
Taylor Armstrong’s Real Housewives co-star, Camille Grammer, also expressed her condolences. ”My sympathy and condolences go out to Taylor and Kennedy,” she tweeted. “My thoughts and prayers are with them.”
Women from other Real Housewives casts have also posted messages. Real Housewives of New York star Ramona Singer wrote, “My prayers and thoughts go out to Taylor Armstrong and her family,” while New Jersey Housewives star Caroline Manzo tweeted, “So sorry 2 hear about Russell Armstrong’s death. I hope @taylorarmstrong’s privacy is respected during this difficult time.”
