For those of us who’ve been paying attention to Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge‘s every move over the past decade, her decision not to appear on the cover of Vogue is no surprise at all. This is a girl who hasn’t made a single misstep since meeting Prince William at St. Andrew’s in 2001, so nary an eyebrow was raised when Her Royal Highness ultimately decided to turn down the invitation from Anna Wintour herself.
According to the Daily Mail, a palace source told E!, “Kate is keenly conscious that her new grandmother-in-law may not chide her for appearing on a Vogue cover. But she would definitely not be amused, and Her Majesty is a real genius at making people squirm with simply a look or a “tut, tut.”‘
Without even speaking to “palace sources,” it’s easy to figure out that Catherine would never agree to doing something that could raise eyebrows in The Firm. To that point, the source added, “Both William and Kate feel it would be wrong for Kate to promote herself as a fashion or style icon. That’s not what they are about and they take their royal duties far too seriously to, in one sense, trivialize them.”
Not gonna happen.
