Punk Hair: Best & Worst From The 2013 Met Ball

May 7th, 2013 // 1 Comment

Sarah Jessica Parker and Anne Hathaway were just two of the hundreds of starlets who shocked the crowd at the 2013 Met Gala on May 6 in New York City.

The event premiered the opening of the PUNK: Chaos to Couture exhibit at the museum. Thanks to the theme, there were tons of super awesome hairstyles floating on the red carpet. From headpieces to gold crowns, It was hard for us to decide which hairstyles made the cut! Check out who made our Best & Worst list in the gallery above.

Kristen Stewart‘s hairstyle was punk perfection with help from stylist Adir Abergel. Stewart’s locks made a rebellious statement. Her super chic, slicked-back coif with a low knot in the back was greatly inspired by “1950’s greaser meets Peter Lindbergh’s iconic images 1990’s androgynous style.”

Julianne Hough‘s edgy up-do was created by hairstylist Riawna Capri. Although the front looks polished, the sides and back of her hair held over 100 black bobby pins, intended to contrast against her blonde hair. The look was interesting but not one of our favorites. Comment below to tell us YOUR favorite punk hair looks!
