Crown Princess Mary of Denmark returned to her home country of Australia this past week, visiting residents of Blue Mountains, which was struck by brush fires.

The Tasmania native was joined by her husband, Crown Prince Frederik, who met his bride at a Sydney bar during the 2000 Summer Olympics.

It’s been wonderful to meet someone like that even in such terrible circumstances,” on local told the Sydney Morning Herald.

Another added, “This has been the morale boost we all need.  It’s just so unexpected and such a lovely gesture for our community.”

Tonight, Their Royal Highnesses attended the Crown Prince Couple’s Awards at Sydney Opera House, the first time that the ceremony has been held outside of Denmark, according to SBS.com.

I confirmed with fashion expert and Style.com contributor Anne Chr. Persson via twitter that Mary’s dress was from Ole Yde’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection.
