St. James Palace has confirmed that TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are proud owners of a cocker spaniel. “It’s from a litter known to the couple through a family connection. It’s a few months old,” the spokesperson for Prince William and Catherine said, adding that “He is a private pet and they do not want his name to be made public although the couple are happy to confirm that they do, indeed, have a new dog.”
The little guy will keep Catherine company up in Anglesey, Wales and in London while William trains in the Falklands for six weeks. His Royal Highness departs tonight, according to the Telegraph, to fly one of the two search-and-rescue helicopters. The Duchess will most likely use this time to work on her four charities, further establishing her role in the royal family.
A photo of William and Catherine walking the beach surfaced on January 24th with their puppy, with the couple wearing wellies and barn jackets. William had a black labrador, Widgeon, who passed away two years ago.
