Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales was born at 9:03pm in the Lido Wing of St. Mary’s Hospital in London on June 21st, 1981. The heir to the British throne was the first member of the royal family to be born in a hospital, and would be the first to attend school with other children rather than have a governess.
Our friend and ABC royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter explained why this milestone was especially significant. William and Harry are both to recieve money from the late Princess of Wales‘ estate when they turn thirty, so today William is roughly $14 million richier. “That’s a big chunk of money, but William leads a very normal life. He lives off his RAF salary, and we’re not going to see anything grand or over the top.” Arbiter said.
This inheritance is not huge cause for celebration, given that William would no doubt rather have Diana present than money left to him in a will.
“He’s turning 30, different things matter, different things are important,” Arbiter said of William. ”He has a very close, very loyal circle of friends and chances are he’ll be celebrating with them and they’ll be keeping tight lipped.” Ready for one of the cutest things you’ll ever see?
