Rugby fan Prince Harry joked he was already “past it” as he helped coach a session for youngsters at Twickenham Stadium today (October 17, 2013). The 29-year-old took part in training with schoolchildren alongside former England star Jason Robinson, joked with Harry that he could make it into the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup in 2015, saying: “We’re looking for a winger or a full-back.”
Jason Robinson also gave Prince Harry a pair of his boots. He told him: “I can’t guarantee they’ll get you into the England team, but you’ll be quick.”
Looking every inch the professional, the 29-year-old wore a white polo shirt and black workout pants as he headed for his training session with a number of lucky school kids from around the country.
A team of girls from the Kevin Hall school in Hull were amongst the youngsters that took part in the session, and speaking to the Hull Daily Mail, aired their excitement about it.
“I’m really looking forward to it. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance,” said their head of PE James Clark. “The girls are really excited. They were even more excited when they found out who they were going to meet. “I’m still trying to play it down with them a bit.”
I’m sure a few of the boys were too. You can see many more pics of the Prince playing rugby in the gallery!
