President Obama Partakes In Presidential Tradition, Pardons The Thanksgiving Turkey [PHOTOS]

It might be one of the weirdest presidential traditions, but it’s definitely one of the most entertaining.

President Obama took to the Rose Garden today with his adorable daughters Sasha and Malia to pardon this year’s Thanksgiving Turkey. Well, technically, he pardoned two turkeys named Cobbler and Gobbler.

The tradition, which started back in 1963 with President Kennedy, got technological this year as folks got to vote for which turkey got to be pardoned. It’s like a really twisted American Idol. Upon pardoning the turkeys, President Obama said, “The American people have spoken, these birds are moving forward.” So what’s next for Cobbler and Gobbler?

The duo are headed off to George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate and Gardens in Virginia where they will spend the rest of their days. Oh you know Cobbler and Gobbler are going to have a lovely time. Wait, don’t they usually go to Disneyland? I know I’ve passed by them many a time in Frontierland. Oh well.

Side note: those Obamas are so attractive. I mean, not just Mr. President. I absolutely love Sasha and Malia’s outfits. So age appropriate and cute. Well done all.
