Step by Step was a regular fixture on the TGIF lineup, appearing from 1991-1997. However, similar to Family Matters, Step by Step spent its final season away from TGIF on ABC, and instead moved to CBS for the 1997-1998 season. The show contrasted to its peer shows on at the time because, unlike the undivorced-family dynamic of Boy Meets World and Family Matters, Step by Step was about the coming together of two families to create a giant step-family. Frank Lambert is a divorcee with 3 children who marries a widow who also has 3 children, it was the Brady Bunch of the 90's. The parents marry without warning and the children aren't immeidately warm to the idea of being a family. The show packages intense sibling rivalry and comfortable family values into a 22-minute box. I wish this show was given life as a DVD. The show has yet to be fully released on DVD, although a 2006 DVD release features 6 episodes.
