Terra Nova (Fox, Mondays, 8pmEST)
Take Jurassic Park and add liberal dashes of Lost and maybe a pinch of Land of the Lost and you've got this big budget (the pilot episode alone cost $16 million), epic series from executive producer Steven Speilberg, no stranger to dinosaurs himself. Set in the year 2149, in a world unable to cope with excessive overcrowding and over development (a world already predicted in the Mike Judge cult classic Idiocracy), scientists discover a portal back in time and send an "ordinary" family back to prehistoric times to attempt to give civilization a second chance and save the human race. Along the way, the family join Stephen Lang (Avatar's Col. Quaritch), the leader of a band of intrepid settlers in the primeval world. Along the way, there's the aforementioned dinosaurs, along with a band of renegades and the mysteries one could expect to discover in the prehistoric world.
