Today’s Rodarte show attracted a bevy of celebs including Kirsten Dunst, Jason Schwartzman, Natalie Portman, Chloe Sevigny and Rachel Zoe. Also on-hand to celebrate the goodness of fashion was Vogue‘s own Andre Leon Talley (in mounds of fur, natch).
The Wall Street Journal‘s blog found Rodarte’s Fall 2010 collection to be very bohemian and a leader in trends because “they inspire new thinking.”
Trends noted on the Rodarte runway: Jazzed-up leggings (think heavy embellishments), and layers upon layers. Three pairs of socks (Yes, all at once. You can do it). Or skirts over pants, complemented with layers of shirts. If this frightens you, keep it simple by layering gauzy pieces over leggings. The point is not to look like an umbrella and to avoid the March-Jacobs-Seattle-Grunge look circa ’94. The slimmer the better.
