Penn Badgley To Star In ‘Greetings From Tim Buckley’

Rufus Humphrey would be so proud.  Penn Badgley has landed the role of Jeff Buckley in the film, Greetings From Tim Buckley.  According to Deadline New York, the film

“Follows the true story of the days leading up to Jeff Buckley’s eminent 1991 performance at his father’s tribute concert in St. Ann’s Church. Through a romance with a young woman working at the concert, he comes to understand the father who abandoned him. Culminating in a cathartic performance of his father’s most famous songs, Jeff’s debut stuns the audience and launches his career as one of the greatest young musicians of his time.”

This will be a great role for Badgely, who will get to showcase his musical talents.  We’re sort of in love with Dan Humphrey after this past season of Gossip Girl (just ’cause), so more screen time is always a good thing.  Greetings From Tim Buckley will start filming in New York City this August.

Badgley showed fans just how awesome he is by insisting on loading his own car back in March.  The Gossip Girl star carried a guitar, snowboard, wooly hat and neck pillow as he left the W South Beach hotel in Miami.  We can’t wait to see what he’s made of in Greetings From Tim Buckley.
