Actress Penelope Cruz would like to with the Oscar for her nominated performance (in the supporting actress category) in Woody Allen‘s Vicky Christina Barcelona as an homage to her homeland, Spain.

Imdb.com quoted her as saying: “I am eternally indebted to the Academy (and) to Woody Allen who gave me this opportunity. I am very happy to see all the affection and congratulations I have received, especially those from Spain. Let’s hope I can bring it home.”

This is the second time Cruz has been nominated for an Academy Award. She was previously nominated for the film Volver in 2006. It’s not going to be easy this year, as she faces tough competition. Good luck beautiful lady.
