This morning Paris Hilton appeared in front of a Las Vegas judge regarding her Aug. 27 arrest for her little cocaine incident.
Hilton pleaded guilty to two misdemeanors – drug possession and obstructing an officer – but avoided jail time and instead will be placed on probation for one year.
Should the 29-year-old be arrested within the next year, she will face a year behind bars. As part of her probation, she must also complete a substance-abuse program, pay a $2,000 fine and complete 200 hours of community service.
According to People, Hilton admitted that she lied to Las Vegas police officers when she told them the purse that contained the cocaine wasn’t hers.
Asked why the heiress did not fight the charges against her, her attorney replied, “Miss Hilton accepted responsibility.”
