Both have done sex tapes. Both are socialites. Both are famous for reasons that are not quite clear to any of us. Yet it seems that Kim Kardashian is bound and determined to follow in the footsteps (maybe with less missteps perhaps) of Paris Hilton, especially with Kim turning to music as a fun side project.
Last week Kim dropped her first single, entitle “Jam (Turn It Up)” and it was…well, it left much to be desired. In its first five days on sale according to Billboard, the song sold 14,000 downloads according to Nielsen SoundScan. That’s not enough to enable a debut on the 75-position Digital Songs chart — No. 75 this week is Nelly’s “Just a Dream,” with 26,000 sold.
Well, to compare, Paris debuted her song “Stars Are Blind” in 2006 and it debuted at No. 10 with 52, 000 in its first week and debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100.
So Kim should stick to the rivers and the lakes that she’s used to and let Paris have the music arena…and let’s remember her first single…[youtube]
