Our First Look As Paul Rudd In ‘Ant-Man’ Seems Way Darker Than You Would Expect

Paul Rudd? Moody San Francisco? Eye stitches? Yes friends, you are looking at the first official photo of Paul Rudd as Ant-Man.

Marvel released the image today, probably to coincide with the the fact that production on the film just started San Francisco. Well, they’ve got one year to get it right before the July 17, 2015 release date.

So basically, you should be super excited right now.

If you don’t know much about Ant-Man–which is likely–let me give you a quick recap. Ant-Man is originally the alter ego of Dr. Henry “Hank” Pym, played by Michael Douglas in this movie, who has the ability to shrink his size and communicate with ants and various other insects. Paul will be playing Scott Lang, the second person to take up the Ant-Mantorch in the comics.

Allow me to quote the folks from Marvel here, “Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.”

I. Am. In. Also, I’ll pretty much watch any movie with Paul Rudd. Yes, I have seen both Year One and Dinner for Schmucks. I’m kind of excited about this. I like that the focus is on the second Ant-Man, I’m digging this moody photo and the cast is awesome. Overall, my hopes are high. So Marvel, you best deliver. What are your thoughts on the first look? Into it? Sound off in the comments!
