A Toast To The Best Picture Nominees!

What better way to display your allegiance to your favorite Oscar-nominated film at a viewing party and then by brandishing a cocktail that reflects your vote? Well, that’s what SKYY Vodka thought when they came up with these delicious and informative cocktail recipes, tailored to represent each film nominated for Best Picture this year. The cocktail featured above is “The Pursuit of Sweetness,” specially created in the spirit of this year’s nominated picture, “The Pursuit of Happyness.”

The Pursuit of Sweetness
3 oz SKYY Vanilla
1 oz raspberry liqueur
Splash of lemon juice

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a raspberry.

If only everyone could look at the world through this rose-colored cocktail, the sweet martini would certainly lift their spirits. So when life hands you lemons, instead of lemonade, make a Pursuit of Sweetness!

2 oz SKYY Vodka
1 oz champagne
Splash of fresh tangerine juice

Shake SKYY and tangerine juice with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with champagne. Garnish with an orange twist.

Little Miss Citrus (“Little Miss Sunshine”)
2 oz SKYY Citrus
1 oz triple sec
1 oz pomegranate juice
Juice of half a lime

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lime twist.

You may not have won the pageant, but this cocktail is sure to take home the title of tastiest cocktail. Pomegranate juice and SKYY Citrus come together for a bright and refreshing drink that’s as much fun as a road trip with the family.

The Devil Drinks Cosmos (“The Devil Wears Prada”)
2 oz SKYY Orange
1 oz triple sec
Splash of red cranberry juice
Fresh lime juice

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Top with a squeeze of fresh lime.

The devil may wear Prada, but she’s also known to enjoy a wicked SKYY Orange Cosmo. The decadent drink will meet even Miranda’s high standards. After all, a good martini is always in fashion.

SKYY Berry Dreamy-tini (“Dreamgirls”)
1 ½ oz SKYY Berry
1 ½ oz sweet and sour mix
1 ½ oz white cranberry juice
Fresh blueberries
Mint leaves

In a shaker muddle sweet and sour mix, blueberries, and mint. Add SKYY Berry and white cranberry juice with ice and shake. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a mint leaf. Blueberries are optional.

SKYY Moroccan Melon Melee (“Babel”)
1 ½ oz SKYY Melon
¾ oz Cointreau
½ oz grapefruit juice
½ oz fresh lemon juice
Splash of lychee syrup
Splash of pomegranate syrup

Shake all ingredients with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with melon balls.
