Those boys of One Direction sure are making names for themselves in tabloids. it was recently revealed that 17-year-old Harry Styles embarked on a summer fling last year with 32-year-old DJ Lucy Horobin, and now bandmate Niall Horan is trying to take back a choice word he threw at female fans in Dublin.
The Irish native who is currently vacationing poolside in Spain, ran into fans in Dublin earlier this week after wrapping the One Direction US tour. The airport encounter with fans turned into tabloid feed when the 18-year-old was caught on video referring to a gaggle of female fans as a “shower of c***s” as they chased after him at the airport. In the video, Horan does not appear bothered by the fan stalking and there does not appear to be any malicious intent on his part. As for the girls, they do not sound offended by the name calling and continued to chat it up with Horan at the airport after the event.
However, the media wasn’t going to let the event slide.
Unfortunately for Horan, everything he does and says is subject to intense scrutinization by the media and after the video went viral, the young singer quickly took to Twitter on July 6 to explain his choice of words:
really sorry if I caused any offence. It was just banter with fans who I think of more as mates…but I understand that it’s not a word I should be using at all
Although the words hardly seem complimentary, neither Horan nor the girls were botherd by the event. Do you think the media blew this out of proportion or does Horan need to think before he speaks?
