Noomi Rapace Wasn’t Even Considering ‘Dragon Tattoo’ Remake; Rooney Mara Hits Stockholm
Noomi Rapace originated the role of Lisbeth Sander in the original, Swedish-produced Millennium films series including The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, but has since said that she had no interest in going back to the films once she heard that David Fincher was going to remake them.
“I never met him, nobody asked me and I didn’t want to do it,” she said in an interview with indieWIRE. “It’s interesting when people think you’re always full of s**t because I always said that I’m done with her, I did everything I could.”
She continued: “When it was [announced] that is was David Fincher, people came back to me and said, ‘Okay, have you changed your mind because it’s David Fincher?’. No, why should I? I respect him, I think he’s great but never, I can’t see any reason to do it again. It’s up to somebody else.”
Fair enough. Why should she bother trying to be in the remake? It’s like, she’s been there and done that.
