Nina Dobrev – Met Ball 2012

Now this is a dress.  Nina Dobrev arrived on the red carpet at the Costume Institute Ball tonight (May 7th) in a hot-to-trot Donna Karan Atelier number that said “I’ve arrived.” The black & antique gold gown was inspired by the Donna Karan devoré dress immortalized by Gwyneth Paltrow in Great Expectations.  The atelier is a new high-end evening collection for the brand.

Dobrev’s version has been modernized with silk chiffon & burnt out metal sequins and gold lined beads. The effortless asymmetrical drapes accentuate the beauty of the back with single layer sequin straps crisscrossing it.  Oh my God, is it perfect.

“On my way to the MET BALL…can’t wait for everyone to see the dress! It’s heavy… Haha.”  It’s amazing.  Everyone else-turn around and go home, please.
