Nicole Richie Set To Star In ABC Scripted Comedy

December 1st, 2009 // 3 Comments

Nicole Richie, the former reality-TV star is set to star and produce a single-camera half-hour sitcom, based on her idea, in development at ABC.

The script, which is being produced through Sony Pictures TV, would feature Richie as a professional woman with complicated family relationships and struggling to figure out what role she’ll take as her life and her family evolve.

Daisy Gardner (Californication) is set to write the comedy – that’s good; Warren Bell (According to Jim) will exec produce and supervise the pilot script – that’s bad.

So do you think Nicole Richie brought enough funny to The Simple Life to headline a half-hour comedy on ABC? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

You know, I woke up this morning wondering, why is Nicole Ritchie famous? And now this breaking news. Well alright! Perhaps now she can be famous for actually doing something and not because she’s allegedly famous for being famous. I don’t understood the big deal about her other than she’s Paris Hilton’s (another no-talent famewhore) former BFF and the adopted kid of a singer. She’s not an actress, singer or entertainer in her own right. Maybe this show will finally justify why her name is even mentioned on celeb blogs and in magazines.

She will be great, I have no doubt. She works hard.
