Nibbly Things: Ice-T and Coco Snapped For Nude Album Cover

October 18th, 2006 // 5 Comments
  • That is one couple that I do NOT need to see nude. No thank you. [Page Six]
  • Surprise, surprise – another African-American customer had problems getting served at a Cracker Barrel. This time it was Rose Rock, Chris Rock‘s mother who was ignored. She’s brought in Al Sharpton to stir up the pot. [Rush & Molloy]
  • Sara Evans, the “Dancing With the Stars” contestant who quit due to her impending divorce is on the hot seat. The nanny who Evans is accusing having an affair with her husband is saying that the affair never happened, and that Evans is a bold face liar. Interesting. [Page Six]
  • Country singer Tim McGraw received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His wife Faith Hill was right by his side during the ceremony. You’ll be able to find it in front of Virgin Records on Hollywood Boulevard. [Reuters]
  • Martha Stewart has pledged to donate $1 million to the hospital where doctors stitched up her hand last December. However, Stewart’s pledge is conditional — other donors must give $2 million by the end of the year before the Stewart money kicks in. She’s crafty. [USA Today]

The Cracker Barrel that is near to where we live (Far northern suburb of Chicago) has a mixed clientele of both black and white. I have NEVER seen any black people denied service or otherwise. In fact, our family was seated next to a black family and we shared the same waitress, who was white, and she was a sweet and attentive to all of us! Other times when we drive to Florida in the spring for vaca, we often stop at Cracker Barrels throughout the south and have seen the same thing. So who knows, maybe this did happen, I’m certainly not saying it doesn’t. (God people, enough already!! Black, white, purple green, and yellow! We’re ALL human beings!)

Ok, as a black woman there is no way I’d be in South Carolina at some place called Cracker Barrel. Racism is alive and well in America, especially in the south so using some awareness and plain common sense would have prevented Mrs. Rock’s feelings from being hurt. Yes, she should be able to eat wherever she wants but thats just not a reality for African Americans yet. I lived in Lousiana for 2 years and had enough of the backwards thinking that exsisted down there.

You guys have got to be kidding!! My God, I don’t think Cracker Barrel would dream of discriminating against anyone. They are all about serving up some good, southern meals. They also have short, tall, thin, heavy, black, white and brown employees. What in the world. You guys need to calm down. I doubt there were any acts of discrimination.
