Christian Bale has said that the third Batman film that will be helmed again by Christopher Nolan will be his last behind the mask. In a recent interview with E! News, Bale says that if it is the last one that they’ll do, “We’ve got to up it.”

Aside from that, Bale says he doesn’t know much more about the project than we do…

“Chris will let me know what I need to know when I need to know it,” Bale told MTV News while promoting The Fighter. “It’s our fourth movie together. I probably know a little bit more than some other people out there, but I think most people would be surprised at how little I do know.”

It should come as no surprise since Nolan spoke about The Dark Knight Rises as the final film in his Batman series back in October, telling the LA Times, “I’m very excited about the end of the film, the conclusion, and what we’ve done with the characters.”

“Unlike the comics, these things don’t go on forever in film and viewing it as a story with an end is useful. Viewing it as an ending, that sets you very much on the right track about the appropriate conclusion and the essence of what tale we’re telling.”

If this upcoming film is as good as The Dark Knight, then I will leave the theatre being blown away. And I know that Christopher Nolan would never settle on something being just ‘as good’ as his last film. So prepare for your minds to be blown.
