New ‘Dark Knight Rises’ Trailer Gives Bleak View Of Batman’s Future [VIDEO]

Warner Bros launched the third and final trailer for the “epic conclusion” to The Dark Knight Batman saga. To coincide with the release of the trailer, the film studios have also launched a viral campaign centred around a ‘Batman Wanted’ poster. On the official Dark Night Rises website is a mock-up of an official Gotham City Police Department appeal for the ‘anonymous vigilante’ and an arrest warrant, as well as a photo of several rolls of Kodak film, to be sent to forensics for development and analysis.

The trailer itself is dark and brooding. It begins with Anne Hathaway (Selina Kyle / Catwoman) saying to Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne / Batman) “there’s a storm coming,” to which he replies “you sound like you’re looking forward to it.” Then comes Catwoman’s sultry response: “I’m adaptable.” Next, follows a string of scenes showing Gotham in meltdown; bridges collapsing and Batman himself under attack from Bane (Tom Hardy). “Why didn’t you just kill me?” Batman asks Bane. “Your punishment must be more severe” Bane replies.

The movie is scheduled for release in July 2012.
