A private viewing was held for late actress Natasha Richardson on the Upper East Side yesterday at the American Irish Historical Society. Richardson’s family, her husband Liam Neeson, mother Vanessa Redgrave and sister Joely Richardson arrived with Natasha’s two sons.
Famous friends in attendance included Diane Sawyer, Uma Thurman and fellow Broadway regular Sarah Jessica Parker, who released a statement on Friday regarding Richardson’s passing, “Every time we say goodbye, I die a little/Every time we say goodbye, I wonder why a little. It’s as if Cole Porter were writing the sentiments of everyone who was privileged enough to know, work with or love the late great Ms. Richardson.”
This traditional Irish wake follows Thursday’s Broadway tribute to the actress, which included dimming marquee lights for an entire minute.
