Natalie Portman Thinks Eating Meat Should Be Illegal

Recently, Natalie Portman employed her activist fingers in writing an op-ed feature for the Huffington Post, in which she asserts her vegetarian position.

The title of the 28-year-old Harvard graduate’s piece is entitled, Jonathan Safran Foer’s ‘Eating Animals Turned Me Vegan,’ and in it, the actress expresses her belief that vegetarianism is the only ethical choice.

Of the author, she writes, “[Foer] posits that consideration, as promoted by Michael Pollan in The Omnivore’s Dilemma, which has more to do with being polite to your tablemates than sticking to your own ideals, would be absurd if applied to any other belief (e.g., I don’t believe in rape, but if it’s what it takes to please my dinner hosts, then so be it).”

Sorry to be tangential, but this totally reminds me of a dinner party I once threw for Mike Tyson. Kidding! But seriously, did you guys see his interview on Oprah? Interesting stuff.
