Coming together to celebrate International Women’s Day, which is coming up Sunday, a wide array of notable women were in attendance at a screening of the documentary film A Powerful Noise.
Actress and activist Natalie Portman, model Christy Turlington and former Secretary of State Madeline Albright were in attendance. The documentary focuses on three different women in developing countries, one who started a support group for HIV positive individuals, another trying to rebuild her community after war and a woman who is teaching young women to read and write.
Before I read about the earnest nature of this film, I was tempted to make a fart joke in reference to the title. I’m so glad I took the high road on that one.
