Critics are already raving about Natalie Portman’s performance in the sci-fi thriller Black Swan, director Darren Aronofsky’s latest effort after the acclaimed The Wrestler. But Portman says she’s still not expecting anything when it comes time for Oscar noms (sure you aren’t hon).

In the film, Portman plays a ballerina suffering a hidden inner torment as she competes with rival ballerina Mila Kunis. The film got much hype at the Toronto Film Festival, but she said her goal is not ultimately prizes but inspiring passion.

“Its very complimentary and flattering that people are talking about that”, the actress said, pictured speaking press conference during
the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival on Tuesday. “The
best thing with this movie is that everybody really seems to be having
a strong visceral response. Obviously what we do is about wanting to
make things that people connect to, that’s the biggest prize” she said.
