Anne Hathaway wasn’t the only celebrity who got married over the weekend (Cat Deeley and Stanley Tucci were married as well) MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts got hitched to his longtime partner Patrick Abner.
The setting was the rooftop of Manhattan’s Gansevoort Hotel on Park Ave. The couple exchanged their vows in a ceremony Saturday (September 29, 2012) performed by Gavin Newsom, the Lieutenant Governor of California and former San Francisco mayor who in 2004 authorized same-sex marriages in that city which were later annulled.
Among the friends who attended were Tony Award winning actress Judith Light, country music star Chely Wright, CNN anchor Don Lemon, Good Morning America weather anchor Sam Champion, television personalities Nate Berkus and Carson Kressley, author Christopher Rice, civil rights activist and best-selling author David Mixner, blogger Meghan McCain and MSNBC anchors Tamron Hall and Chris Jansing.
“I’ve attended my first legal gay wedding, and it couldn’t have been for a classier couple,” Rice tweeted after the ceremony.
Patrick tweeted some wonderful photos over the weekend to mark the occasion. Launch the gallery to check them out.
