Miley Cyrus is certainly enjoying a hell of a lot of free publicity as a result of her Vanity Fair photo shoot, which has stirred up quite a bit of controversy for the Disney star. At first, Miley claimed to be happy with the now notorious “bedsheet photo” in which she appears to be topless, but concealed. Photographer Annie Leibovitz said that she and the 15-year-old “looked at fashion photographs together and we discussed the picture in that context before we shot it.”
However, a sneak peek at the pictures online proved so popular that more than 4 million hits had the site crashing from the onslaught of visitors hoping to catch a glimpse of Miley’s pictures. Now, in addition to Miley’s apology to her fans, which came in the form of a public statement, her father, Billy Ray is saying that he would have put a stop to the “racy” shoot if he would have been present. According to Entertainment Tonight, Billy Ray left after his shots with Miley had been taken because of a schedule conflict and was not privvy to the shot selection for the “bedsheet setup” prior to publication.
Am I the only one who thinks that far more disturbing than these Vanity Fair pictures are the candids that keep turning up of Miley and her mystery red-face, sweaty companion?
