Your "overthinking it" people!

An extremely fast talking Miley Cyrus has finally has spoken out regarding her performance with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Cyrus said she wanted her performance to be memorable.

“Me and Robin [Thicke,] the whole time said, ‘You know we’re about to make history right now.’”

Much of the talk that would follow the performance was critical of her twerking and salacious dancing. Cyrus said the criticism was a result of “overthinking.”

“You’re thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it,” she said. “Like, I didn’t even think about it ’cause that’s just me.”

Cyrus said her act continued the long running tradition of provocation at the VMAs. “Madonna‘s done it. Britney‘s done it. Every VMA performance, that’s what you’re looking for; you’re wanting to make history.”

As for offending anyone? “I don’t pay attention to the negative because I’ve seen this play out so many times,” Cyrus said. “How many times have we seen this play out in pop music?”

In other words, move on people!
