Miley Cyrus Love Magazine

OK Miley Cyrus, just because you were a big deal in 2013 does not mean that you can start 2014 by dissing without a doubt the current most famous singer on the planet.

But clearly Miley missed that memo when she talked shit about Beyonce in the latest issue of Love magazine. Allow me to quote Miley for you now.

“Beyonce has been a big inspiration to me but she’s been out for such a long time. She’s so talented and I think she’s at the top of the game now but people are always looking for new blood and that’s what I bring to the game now, new blood.”

Yes, those are real words that came out of Miley’s mouth. She then continued, “I got the total package you know, the curves, the rhythm, and the voice. I’m just the best. As Beyonce grows in motherhood and all the crap it does to your body, it will create a vacuum for fresh young faces to rise up and no one else can properly fill that void right now. I’m the only white female singer that could fill that slot right now and do it right, you know?”

I like the part where Miley refers to herself as “the best.” Umm, have you seen the music video for “Adore You”? There is nothing good about that. And let’s stop and remember for a second which of the two ladies released a surprise album that broke records. Oh right, that’s Beyonce.

So careful, Miley. You are treading on a very fine line by dissing Beyonce. I’m not even a die-hard Beyonce fan and I think what you’re saying is absurd. Thoughts on Miley’s dissing of Bey? Sound off in the comments!

Living in the land of Delusion. Poor thing, she really believes what she says, doesn’t she?

I hate this on sooo many levels.

One, Miley seems to assume that there can only ever be one female artist in the top elite, which is absurd. Unfortunately, this is a throwback to pop/rock being dominated by men, pre-Madonna 1980s, so the few women who were famous in pop music had to fight for what little scraps they were given. Also, the music media sources tended to be written by men, who loved pitting women against each other in made-up catfights… ever notice that men never have to constantly compare themselves to other male artists and claim they are the best (okay, Kanye and Prince do this, but very few others… maybe Elton John).

Anyway, the really sad thing is she is giving herself her own shelf-life and she’s not even self-aware enough to know it… she’s basically saying that in a year or two, SHE’LL be old hat and “new blood” will be in place to take her down.

She should learn from Madonna, who while occasionally smacking down pretenders, has usually been pretty gracious to other female artists both before (admitting she’s a fan or was influenced by Debbie Harry, Cher and others) during (she has said many positive things about Whitney, Celine and Mariah) and after her (she’s recorded with established or up-and-coming artists like Britney, Nicki Minaj, MIA and Missy Elliot).

Miley is very sexy, young woman who can carry a tune just enough not to be laughable, If she wasn’t outrageous And sexual nobody would give a damn.
