What’s that? Miley Cyrus isn’t wearing next to nothing for once and is actually wearing a cute, conservative outfit? I never thought I’d see the day.
Miley was recently featured on the cover of Elle Magazine wearing a Marc Jacobs long sleeved sequined top and matching pants, a rare occasion for the normally scantily clad singer.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Miley’s outrageous outfits, girl can rock them for sure, but I also love this because it shows she’s got more than one side to her. I like that.
Miley stuck with the theme of showing a different side of herself when she interviewed with Elle and talked about her life outside of the spotlight. Miley always appears so confident to me, but she reveals that there are times in her life when she’s been incredibly unsure and anxious.
“When I went through a really intense breakup—you know, I was engaged—and when I was with him or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn’t there to carry me anymore or if I didn’t have him. And now I’m free of both of those things, and I’m fine.”
Miley’s struggles have inspired many of her fans to deal with their own, and she loves that. Miley has struggled with depression, and her fans have found comfort in knowing that they aren’t alone in that. “That gives me a big purpose—a reason to wake up in the morning that’s bigger than to put on my fucking feathers and my little outfits.”
Miley definitely has a lot more going on in her life than she lets on, and I love when she shares that with us. She’s crazy outfits and wild dance moves – but she’s also just trying to find her way in the world like anyone else. I respect that.
