Last night Milan closed its doors on Fashion Week with the black tie gala to benefit amFAR, the Foundation for AIDS Research, and after a week of drama…the designers were ready to just cut loose, figuratively.
“It seems like the whole city is coming back to life again,” said Dean Caten, one of the designers of Dsquared, a label that had presented a spring collection only 12 hours before.
Cheyenne Jackson, wearing a Cavalli tux, sang Elvis Presley‘s “If I Can Dream,” between items that were up for acution. Diane von Furstenberg also designed a BMW Mini for the auction.
The event raised over $1 million.
