After showing her flawless face at Burberry Prorsum’s show during London Fashion Week yesterday (February 18th), Michelle Dockery partied at members-only club Loulou’s with sister, Jo.
The Downton Abbey star kept it British the entire time, wrapping herself in a trench coat, stacked heels and dark green trousers.
Americans who waited to watch Sunday’s season three finale on PBS were devastated when Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) died in a car crash, literally an hour after his son was born.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the finale drew 8.2 million viewers (season 2′s finale saw 5.4 million viewers, and this season’s premiere netted 7.9 million).
This next bit of news regarding season four is a spoiler. If you don’t want to know what is going to happen, do not go any further.
It appears that Lady Mary will take to widowhood just fine. The Daily Mirror and Daily Mail report that Tom Ellis will play her new love interest, and an ITV source told the Mirror that “Tom’s legion of female admirers twinned with his acting ability is what won him the part.”
One of the show’s executives told E! (via Marie Claire UK) that Matthew’s death provides Lady Mary with a “great opportunity.”
‘This is a lesson in something that seems like a really big loss in the moment, but will actually turn into a great opportunity… which it will also be for the show, to take a turn in a whole different direction,” Neame said.
Downton’s creator Julian Fellowes told the New York Times that season four starts “six months later.”
“We don’t have to do funerals and all that stuff,” Fellowes said. ”That’s all in the past by then.”
So, take the time now to mourn the loss of Mary’s husband/cousin.
