A recent Dodge commercial got on PETA’s nerves when a chimpanzee was shown dressed like Evil Kneivel. According to PETA, young chimpanzees and orangutans are notoriously abused in the entertainment industry. An open letter from PETA stated “Dodge isn’t going to dodge a bullet on this one. It needs to pull the ad — and we’ve contacted the company asking it to do just that.”
Instead of pulling the commercial completely, or going on the defensive, Dodge released a similar commercial that ironically poked fun at their blunder. The monkey is now invisible and the commercial is voiced by none other than Dexter star, Michael C. Hall! In my opinion, the dry-pan humor from Hall and the lack of animal abuse is a much better option. Check it out:
Hall looks fit and healthy in these pictures as he leaves the gym in Los Angeles on July 8, 2010. I can’t wait to see if he wins the Emmy in two weeks!
