Michael Fassbender is such a handsome devil. He was his regular hot self at last night’s AFI Fest 2011 in Los Angeles, where his new movie, Shame premiered. Fassbender plays a New York City-based sex addict whose mentally unstable sister (Carey Mulligan) comes to stay with him.
“You know, it’s always awkward getting naked and masturbating—well, simulating it at least—with a bunch of strangers in the room,” Fassbender told E!. “But you gotta get over that and get on with the telling of the story.” Fassbender had many a naked scene, requiring the film to have an NC-17 rating (if only Breaking Dawn could have followed suit).
Though it provides eye candy for the masses, Fassbender insists that there’s nothing pornographic about Shame. “The scenes where there are sexual encounters with the characters are so important in terms of where he’s at and what his mental state is,” Fassbender explained. “It’s not about titillation and exploitation.”
