Director Ridley Scott has finally released a full trailer for Prometheus. The “prequel of sorts” to Scott’s 1979 classic Alien is the most anticipated science-fiction features of the year.

The sneak peek was released at the WonderCon Sci-Fi Convention in California over the weekend.

The film tells the story of “a team of explorers [who] discover a clue to the origins of mankind on earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.”

New mom Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace (the original Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and Idris Elba star as a space crew searching for advanced alien life forms in the year 2085.

Despite the fact that the fresh trailer is jam-packed with creepy scenes, Scott insisted that the movie is not related to horror genre. “The bottom line is just to make a good movie,” he said during the panel. “Just make a fucking good movie. It’s got nothing to do with horror or whatever. That’s why there’s only a few really, really great ones. Thereafter, there are only evolutions of copycats.”
