The glamorous Governors Ball saw a flurry of star-studded activity after the Academy Awards. Actresses Meryl Streep and Octavia Spencer shared a few laughs while sipping champagne and the Best Actor, Jean Dujardin, couldn’t help but kiss his Oscar, after it was engraved at the ball. Streep was later seen showing off the Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, which Margaret Thatcher used to wear. She was also ecstatic when talking about her third Oscar in 30 years.
“I was happy shocked, happy shocked, happy shocked,” Reuters quoted Streep as saying.
However, possibly the most interesting moment of the event didn’t happen inside. Los Angeles police have confirmed actress Sean Young was placed under citizen’s arrest after a fight broke outside the Governor’s Ball. According to Entertainment Weekly, Young was booked at the Hollywood police station for investigation of misdemeanor battery. She reportedly posted $20,000 bail and was released early on Monday.
TMZ is reporting that Young was hanging around the entrance of the Governors Ball snapping photos with celebs like Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt and Sandra Bullock when guards asked her where her ticket was. When they realized she wasn’t invited, they asked her to leave. While Young departed, she soon returned. So when security asked her to go away again, she allegedly slapped the guard.
