Meredith Baxter Comes Out As ‘Lesbian Mom’

December 2nd, 2009 // 5 Comments

A mother of five, Meredith Baxter reveals to People magazine that she has been involved in a lesbian relationship with contractor, Nancy Locke, for four years. The couple have lived together for the past two years and Baxter reveals that the road leading to her coming out has been a long one.

Baxter tells People, “I was never comfortable with myself…That doesn’t mean I was questioning.” She adds, “I feel like I’m being honest for the first time.”

Meredith first started dating women seven years ago, after three failed marriages to men and says that up until that point, being gay “had never crossed my mind.” Shortly after it did, however, she spoke to her children, who were supportive.

Quite simply, Meredith sums it up by saying, “I’m a lesbian mom.” Well, cheers to that!

How many stupid man-hating movies has this lady been in? Now it becomes clear as to why.

    The crusade against men continues.

I wrote a novel about a woman coming out late-in-life called Seeking Sara Summers. For these women it isn’t about getting their 15 minutes of fame (a criticism I saw of Meredith Baxter on another site), it’s about getting a life. I think it takes a tremendous amount of courage to simply be who you are.

I feel bad for her. This news makes me sad. I know that many people will say I am being judgmental. So be it. I will pray for her. Being Gay or lesbian is a sin or a sickness of the soul. When someone has cancer or some kind of disease you don’t ignore it. Our society has made it now a cool thing to be gay. It’s not ! Please don’t miss understand . I don’t agree with hating people like that. No hate is wrong also. However, being gay is still a sin and it does not make a better society. Don’t write me all kinds of comments. Remember I also have the right to think what I want to think just like you do. If I am wrong what do I have to lose. However, if you’re wrong about this you have eternity to … think about it.
