Well, well, well! Would you have a look at Melissa McCarthy!

No doubt that she looks awesome, however, the actress was at the center of a little controversy when the cover of November’s Elle magazine issue was released.

The cover featured the McCarthy covered up in a heavy trench coat and a big hair ‘do! After seeing the cover, the Internet erupted in a riot of discussion about whether Elle did it on purpose to hide the 43-year-old’s full-figured body.

Unfortunately this isn’t the first time a critic comments on her weight, a critic once called her a “female hippo”. How rude is that?

But amid the so-called scandal, no one really asked McCarthy whether she had a problem with it. At the Elle Women in Hollywood gala, she broke her silence about the controversy. She said:

What I found so bizarre is I picked the coat, I grabbed the coat. I covered up. I had a great black dress on but I thought, it comes out in November. I was so sick of summer. I live in Southern California. I was like, ‘Give me a big coat to wear. Give the girl some cashmere!’

Andy Samberg also addressed the issue at the gala. He mocked the controversy and jokingly admitted in front of everyone that he sneaks her issue in the bathroom!
