Meg Ryan Found Being Viewed As A Whore Freeing

The Women‘s Meg Ryan says that she found it “freeing” when, back in the day, people thought she blitzkrieged her marriage to Dennis Quaid to bone around with Russell Crowe.

“It was also incredibly liberating,” she says about the split with Quaid and being considered a “scarlet woman.” “Now I was utterly free. I didn’t have to care about what
people thought. I have gotten to do what I guess I secretly wanted to
do. Be totally under the radar and live my life.”

Ryan met Crowe on the set of 2000′s Proof of Life, and immediately dived into his pants. But she says that it’s not like Quaid was all virginal choirboy guy.

“Dennis was not faithful to me for a long time, and that was very
painful,” she says, adding, “I am not a victim. I was there. I was in
that marriage for a really long time.”

Ryan spent most of the rest of the 2000s being unsuccessful, adopted a daughter from China named Daisy (pictured here), and doing things to her face that even science-fiction can’t explain.

It’s funny how she’s been so light-lipped–how incongruous!
